QinetiQ’s Corporate Headquarters and Engineering Facilities located in Lorton, VA, enable the innovative design, development, integration and testing of first-to-market C5ISR solutions. Our Production and Manufacturing Facility located in Kilmarnock, VA, support the rapid fabrication, testing and depot-level repair of various systems, as well as manufacture of systems, electronics and precision machined components. All of our facilities are ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D certified.
Electronic Fabrication Facility
The Electronic Fabrication Facility supports rigid and flexible Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Cable and Box assembly, design, and production.
Precision Machining Facility
The Precision Machining Facility manufactures precision machined components for aerospace and defense applications. Our technicians routinely work with machining tolerances as close as > +/-0.0001” and > +/-0.0002”.
Systems Integration and Sensor Systems Facility
The Systems Integration and Sensor Systems Facility supports rapid production of complex systems, fabrication, and sensor suite integration efforts, as well as our cable assembly processes.
Controlled Warehouse and Inventory Facility
The Controlled Warehouse and Inventory Facility provides secured and climate-controlled inventory storage.
The Optics Lab is equipped to research, develop, test and characterize sensors, systems, and components. The Optics Lab contains cutting-edge sources and equipment to support integration, testing, characterization, and calibration of advanced ISR systems.
Electronic Engineering Laboratory
The Electronics Integration Lab supports all aspects of the electronics development, integration and testing.
Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
The Mechanical Integration Lab is furnished with workbenches, precision torque gauges, and a variety of dimensional measurement equipment. This lab has successfully integrated systems into handheld, ground vehicle, and airborne payloads.
System Integration Laboratories (SIL)
QinetiQ hosts and operates multiple program-specific System Integration Labs (SILs) that collocate expertise from our engineering labs to focus collaborative efforts on specific customer-focused activities. QinetiQ’s Soldier SIL concept is a standardized, measurable approach used for testing of personnel-worn sensor systems; our Ground Combat SIL will allow for integration and synchronization of the Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) sensors prior to field testing with the surrogate vehicle.
The Software Lab uses a collaborative distributed software development approach, adaptable to a wide variety of projects, from software only efforts to embedded systems tied to specific prototype hardware.
